Well folks thats it here from us at the D4 Events Short Handed Event 2012, 818 players in total taking to the felt to create a €400,000 prizepool and out of those 818 84 were going to walk away with a few €€€ for their efforts but the lions share went to Cyril Delaire as he walked away with €65,000.
The tittle has now finally been conquered from a French player but Irish player Mick Graydon tried to scupper those ideas as he was the sole remaining non French from about 20odd out but he eventually bowed out in 4th place. Big congratulations to all of those players who made it into the money.
It's been a long couple days here at this tournament but it was such a good structure it was always going to be, hustle & bustle in the room all week was a sight to behold as the madness descended on the Regency Hotel, some of the highlights for me was the French table quiz hadn't got a breeze with what was being said but it looked like mighty craic.
Would like to thank you all for tuning into the blog coverage it went well with nice comments from those who had tuned in, some lulls in places as we had to shoot off to do other bits and bobs so hopefully the videos we shot will be up online soon so you can all get a feel for what we did this week.
D4 Events will be back in February with the European Deepstack so go check out the D4events.com to find out the details for the upcoming events, still have a bit & bobs to do here but hopefully I make it to the bar for a pint or two. Until next time catch you all on the flipside.

Surprising
After a slow 7 handed play for awhile there was some thinking that this final table could be a long one (could still be) but with two quick exits in succession it looks like it might be a frantic final table.
Another One Bites the Dust Julien Lourdin - 5th
While in the middle of writing up the previous entry Julien Lourdin has exited the event in 5th place once again at the hands of Damien Llommeau.
Lourdin held 1010 vs the JJ of Llommeau & when the flop came down J89 there was some outs for Lourdin to scoop with a straight draw but as the turn and river bricked with a 6 & 2 just like that we are down to 4.
Received the hand details off one of the French bloggers cheers to him.
5th - Damien Llommeau - €19,000

Quick Exit Loic Hervier - 6th
No sooner had we just started the final table we had out first exit when Loic Hervier was eliminated by Damien Llommeau with all the money going in pre flop AK vs 99 with an Ace on the flop.
Didn't even get a chance to get a picture of him in his seat.
6th - Loci Hervier - €15,000

Bubble
Antoine Pignon was the unfortunate final table bubble boy as he was eliminated at the hands of Damien Llommeau when they both got their chips all in on the turn on a board reading As4c10c8dAh with A3 vs AJ.
Pignon will walk away with €12,000 for his troubles.

Level 29
Blinds now 30,000-60,000-8,000 7 players still remaning.
We we nearly down to our final table of 6 but Julien Lourdin managed to suck out when all the chips went in on the flop of AJQ when his Q4 got there on the turn against A5.

We are down to our final 7 players which is the unofficial final table, players will be going on a 1 hour dinner break now and we will be back at 9pm to play out to our champion.
Double Through
Irish man Mick Graydon has managed to double through the tournament chip leader Damien Llommeau when Graydon held AhKh vs Kc8c on a king high board two clubs, catching the action on the flop and "it's I have to hold" as the dealer burnt & turned and rivered brick brick for Graydon.
Count down of the stacks and it's 761,000 to take him back up to over 1,500,000

Sole Survivor
Mick Graydon is now the sole remaining non French player as Norwegian Tommy Ronning has been eliminated. Graydon himself has now just eliminated a player from the feature table when his 22 got there on the river after his opponent hit an 8 on the turn.
One Irish man his dog and 1,600,000 against the 24 remaining French players, if there is somebody who has the skill to traverse this tournament it certainly is Tall Michael.

Day 2 Wrap Up
That is a wrap for Day 2 at the D4 Events European Short Handed event, start of play today we had 304 returning players and we have now whittled that down to 34.
It was a quiet day blogwise as we had to shoot off to do some video stuff from the Winamax table quiz, have to say couldn't understand a thing but it looked like a whole bunch of fun and missed the end of it having to rush off to catch the bubble as Rémy Cougnenc found himself on the unfortunate side of that.
As we busted through the bubble there was a raft of quick exits as the short stacks weere now in the money and time to get busy or double up to be in with a shot of fighting for the title, we had two former champions returning for play today Alan Trueick (2012) & Steven King (2011) but they went out in unknown circumstances we will now have a new champion and could that player be French???
Damien Llommeau* looks to be our tournament chipleader going into Day 3 with a stack of 1,390,000 we will return tomorrow with 34 and play down to our final table and then onto crowning our champion who will walk away with €65,000 could it be a lady as we still have one in the the running Helen Majot or could it be the sole remaining Irish man Mick Graydon who finished on a very respectful 1,300,000
Once again folks cheers for tuning in to our coverage, we will be back tomorrow for a 1pm start until then catch you all on the flipside.

Finishing Time
TD Jp McCann announced over the mic a few minutes ago that we will play a maximum of 11 levels (2:30ish) or 24 players whatever comes first.
Level 19
Blinds now running 3,000-6,000-800 with 84 players remaining and an average stack of 197,108.

Bubble Boy
Rémy Cougnenc is the unfortunate bubble boy he lost a big all in on the bubble when his KK was beaten by 89 on a 89x flop which left his relatively short stacked, a couple of hands later he managed to get a couple of chips back when his A7 outdrew pocket 10's.
Onto his final hand he shoved K10 from the button and got called out of the blinds and as the board ran out Kxxx6 the SB fired a 50,000 bet on the river and showed K6 for the rivered two pair and to burst the bubble.
Bubble Time
We are now on the money bubble 85 remain with 84 paid and we have been hand for hand for awhile.
Bubble Approaching
91 players remain at the moment and we are quickly approaching the bubble as 84 of those remaining will walk away with a minimum of €900 & a maximum of €65,000.
Quick Update
Have roughly 20 minutes left in Level 17 blinds running 2,000-4,000-500 clock reads 92 players remaining with an average stack of 177,286.
Level 16
All players have just returned from dinner break, blinds now 1,600-3,2000-400 clock reads 132 players remaining with an average stack of 123,939.
Updates on the blog will be scarce for a bit as we have some video footage to do.

Dinner Break
All players in the main event will now be going on a 1 hour dinner break so we will be back with you all very shortly.
Champions
The two former champions in 2010/2011 Alan Trueick & Steven King seem to be M.I.A at the moment haven't spotted them in the field in the last couple walk arounds so it would seem we will not be having a repeat champion at this time.
Getting There
Sean Prendiville had managed to get himself back up to 80,000 after being as low as 8,000 he currently is on around 55,000 while Mick Graydon himself is upping his chip count and is on around 140,000

Remaining Irish
In a field of French players there is still a few players flying the flag for Irish in the form of Michael Muldoon/Jay O Toole/Mick Graydon/Sean Prendiville/Jason Tompkins/David Lappin/Chris Dowling.

Big Dent
Sean Prendiville has taken a huge dent to his stack as he lost a 115,000 pot, I arrive at the conclusion of the hand as his AsJs didn't get there ahead of 8h8c when the board ran out 5h6h4h6h3c and the stacks.
Leaving himself with 8,000 now he shoved the next hand with AsQh and it was to the player in the BB who just held with the 88 who made the call with 10s5c in the hopes of knocking him out but as the board ran out 4s8h9cQc4h Prendiville had managed to get himself a double up.
Shoving the next hand he picked up the blinds and antes when nobody called as he flashed AdJh I was hovering around his table trying to see how he was getting on for the next while but I didn't want to feel like a burden to him so I left him to his own devices hopefully when I get back out there he will have managed another double up.

Busto
Chatting with Nick Abou Risk just before the break and he was making his way towards the exit as unfortunately he has busted.
Raising from the SB with KJ the player in the BB who had doubled up him awhile back defended, the flop was J53 and Abou Risk had lead at the pot and was raised, tanking for a bit he moved all in and got installed called and was shown the bad news as the BB had peeled with J3o & with no change on the turn & river we lose another player.
Next up for Nick Abou Risk is a late decision to go and play EPT San Remo next week in Italy.

Blinds now running 1,000-2,000-250 as players retake their seats, 162 players remaining with an average stack of 85,208
Suited
In a blind on blind battle Nick Abou Risk shoved his 22,825 from the SB with Ad5d and got instantly snapped off by the BB with Ac8h
Having taking a couple knocks to put him down he need to suckout to claim the win, as the dealer spread the flop of Ah5hKs Abou Risk took the lead with top & bottom pair when the turn fell a Js he now just had to fade a couple outs on the river for the scoop & it came 5s to lock up the win as he housed up on the river.
Abou Risk was just shy of 50,000

Brief Outage
Was in the middle of doing a couple updates when the internet went once again but we are back up and running now.
1 Round Penalty
Winamax Pro Michel Abecassis has been eliminated from the main event and in the process the player who eliminated him ended up receiving a penalty for being a bit overzealous.
Standing on the opposite of the room I hear this big roar go out and look around to see said player standing up at his table with his hands in the air & with that it brought the room to laughter including myself, he is speaking to his friends on the rail in French and on further inspection as the two TD's Jp McCann & the French TD are over accessing the situation, Abecassis is certainly upset at the events and is speaking to his counterpart so I couldn't understand what was said but from the tone you could guess it wasn't good.
There is also a prize for eliminating a Winamax pro but more importantly he got himself a double up.

Couple minutes in a new blind as they run 800-1,600-200 216 players currently remaning with an average stack of 75,740.
Live Stream
The feature table live stream has been up and running now for awhile for anybody interested you can find it here it will be in French though so hope some of you have a little knowledge.
Suppose though it's not very hard to follow when you see a player pushing all in chips in the middle, if he stands up he is more than likely gone & if he sits down he has won.

Raise Fold
Not sure of all the action pre flop but I see Femi Fakinle had 6,000 out in front of him but gotten raised to 11,750 from a player in seat 1, Fakinle went back into his stack and was counting it down but eventually found the fold.
Possible Chipleader
Romain Milan was coming into today at the top of the chip counts and I believe he was the first player was the first player eliminated on Day 1a looks to be the chip leader at the moment with a stack of over 260,000
Check Raised
Catch Jay O Toole raise the player to his rights bet of 3,000 to 8,300 with the flop reading Qs9d4d and his raise gets looked up, as we went to the turn 2h O Tooles opponent checked to him & was now facing a bet of 13,000 and that's when the old check raise was sprung as he table mate now reraised to 35,000.
O Toole sat in his seat for a few minutes before the interrogation started using anything to try and get some info out of his opponent questions like "will you show me a bluff" left his opponent pretty stoney faced as the questioning continued, after a couple minutes in the tank O Toole couldn't continue on with the hand as he remarked to me "Dan I think I made a bad fold" onto the next hand Jay.

Level 12
Players have retaken their seats as we now move into blinds of 600-1,200-150 252 players remain with an average stack of 64,620
Champions
We still have two previous champions in the field today Alan Trueick who won this event back in 2010 is currently on 85,000 while the defending champion Steven King is on around 70,000.
Chatting with him for awhile after play finished on Day 1a he said he was going to spend yesterday playing mostly online, asked him how he got on and he said he won a few €€€, while he is still in this event he has the chance of going back to back and taking down the €65,000 1st place prize.

Double Through
Chatting with Belgium player Anthony Rodrigues he gives me the heads up that he doubled up within the first few hands at the start of play and is on around 80,000 at the moment.
Little Blip
Over on the table of Nick Abou Risk he is applying the pressure pre flop after an open on the button to 2,200 Abou Risk 3bets from the SB to 5,525 and gets looked up.
Flop 4d8d3d reaching into his stack he takes one of each denomination and bets 6,625 and once again he gets looked up by the player on the button, as they went to the turn of 5h this slowed down the betting from the pre flop aggressor as he now checks the action the button and is now facing a bet of 9,200.
Give his opponent the once over and tanking for a few moments he relinquishes his hand and moves onto the next one.

Flopped It
Catching some action while walking through the field I see Fabien Bischoff has moved all in after an open & a 3bet he has shoved for around 40,000 and he is waiting for the call from Youness Youalla who eventually elects to call.
Bischoff - AhKh
Youalla - AsQd
Playing for over an 80,000 pot Youalla didn't look too happy when he seen his hand was dominated but that quickly changed as the dealer spread a flop of 10cJcKc as he had just flopped the nuts but when the board paired on the turn with the Kd it was a little nervy as his hand was snow susceptible to being beaten and as the dealer river the 4s the tentative wait for both players was over as Bischoff made his way towards the rail while Youalla was raking in the chips.

4 minutes into todays action and I'm hearing shouts from the dealers for "seat open" only a couple sub 10bigs stack but still a good few people who need to get busy quick.
Day 2 is Live
