Thats a Wrap Folks...

Well folks thats a wrap here at the D4 Events European Deepstack Poker Championship in Dublin its been a fun filled week that kicked on Tuesday with the High Roller event 19 participants took part in that with Jason Tompkins eventually taking that down plus the title and €19,450.

Onto Wednesday which started Day 1a of the Main Event 214 people took part and the eventual chip leader of that day was Robbie Scott, Thursday saw 376 people taking part in Day 1b and over the coarse of the day Christian Vanzieleghem would prevail as Day 1b chip leader which ultimately lead to being chip leader for the next two days.

Also of the coarse of the week we had a variety of other tournaments on the go a €550 Omaha won by Giuseppe Baisela for €7,475/  €300 2 day Holdem still on going / €200 1 day Holdem which is still in progress / €120 Turbo won by last years Deepstack champ Magnus Naslin for €1,200 / €550 Main Event won by Christian Vanzieleghem for €62,800  you can find a list of all our payouts on our Excel spreedsheet HERE

The European Deepstack Poker Championship in Dublin was a re-entry tournament for the first time and it had 70 people take this on as an option which turned out well for Christian Vanzieleghem as he re-entered and went on to take it down.

Myself and PK on the blog for the duration of the week while Phil maned the live stream with a few guest commentators throughout the time it aired to Ailbe who arrived late in the week but put in a good stint, I would like to take this time to thank everybody who tuned into both and thank you kindly for the nice words that we received about them, also a special mention to Gary "The Hat" Jarman he is the man behind the scenes the unsung hero.

From D4 Events you will find them next at the European Deepstack Poker Tour Event in Prague from March 21st-25th more info about that can be found HERE

Until next time folks...

Omaha Winner

Giuseppe Baise

Giuseppe Baise was the winner in the €500 Omaha event.

Here is a list of the cashes.

Giuseppe Baisela Italy € 7,475.00

Dean Gavin Ireland € 4,980.00

Daniel Johnsen Norway € 2,490.00

Paul Carr Ireland € 1,664.00

Winner Winner Christian Vanzieleghem

Christian Vanzieleghem
Christian Vanzieleghem is the D4 Events European Deepstack Dublin Winner 2012 he will walk away with €62,800 at the trophy.

Vanzieleghem was eliminated on Day 1a by Julien Duveau funnily enough and then reentered on Day 1b and from then and Day 2 he was the chip leader for both days so it would seem a fitting way for him to finish off the tournament.

Onto the final hand Vanzieleghem raises it pre to 400,000 with Duveau just flat calling, flop As9d7s Vanzieleghem check calls a bet of 600,000, turn card 8h Duveau checks which makes Vanzieleghem shove all in for millions which had his opponent well covered, hitting the tank and trying to work out the hand Duveau eventually makes the call with Ad2h but is shown the bad news as he is up against Ah7c for two pair, with no outright chances of winning the hand he could still chop if the board fell 9 or 8, the dealer reveals the Qc on the river and Vanzieleghem throws his arms up in the air at winning.

While Christian will walk away with the lions share Julien Duveau gets €45,965 which is also very tasty.

Christian Vanzieleghem

Heads Up

We go heads up,

Christian Vanzieleghem - 16,310,000

Julien Dadon - 13,160,000

3rd Benjamin Dadon

Benjamin Dadon
One time chip leader Benjamin Dadon has been eliminated by Christian Vanzieleghem, I get the action from PK.

Dadon mins to 400,000 and Vanzieleghem reraises to 1,200,000 and gets flatted, flop 10sJs7h and Dadon shoves for over 4,000,000 and gets snap called by Vanzieleghem which has the room talking.

Turn brings the 8c to give Vanzieleghem the straight draw but Dadon still had outs for the win but when the dealer revealed the river 7d it was the line of the line for Dadon & will collect €34,300 for his 3rd place finish.

Christian Vanzieleghem was the Day 1b & Day 2 chip leader so can he lock up the win?

Flop of 3s7dJs

Turn 5c

River 6s

Magic river card to keep Duveau in with a shot at the title.

Youry De Winter
Another player down as we lose Youry De Winter in 4th and Benjamin Dadon who lost the chip lead for a little bit is now once again our chip leader.

De Winter opens to 360,000 & Dadon makes it 900,000 De Winter moves all in for around 5,800,000 and a quick call from Dadon.

Cards on their backs De Winter Ac10c Dadon KdKc.

5th Anthony Guibert

Anthony Guibert
Anthony Guibert has been eliminated in 5th place by Julien Duveau, Guibert playing the shortstack little over 700,000 for the last while had been shoving a lot the last while and eventually he got the call.

Guibert - KdJc

Duveau - As8h

Guibert flops the absolute world when it came down 6cAdQd for the royal flush draw, Turn no help as it bricked the 4c and the river fell Kh to miss everything.

Guibert will collect €17,500 for his weekends work.

- DM

Break Time

Players have just asked to go on a 10 minute break.

- DM

6th Dan Carter

Dan Carter
Just as soon as Dan Carter had doubled up he has been eliminated, Youry De Winter opens and Carter shoves for 2,000,000 and gets snapped called, there is a little of of disbelief at the hand at how quick it was called.

Carter - AdJc

De Winter - Ks10c

It was virtually all over for Carter as the board fell Qc9hJh, De Winter had flopped the nuts needing Carter to draw running cards, little help on the turn of 10h to give him outs to the higher straight but not to be as the dealer flipped over a Qh river card.

Carter will walk away with €12,200 for his efforts.

- DM

Double Through

Dan Carter has doubled through to 2million against Christian Vanzieleghem, Carter held AcJs vs Kd10s of Vanzieleghem.

Junior Walden will be the 7th place finisher, just eliminated by our tournament chipleader Benjamin Dadon.

Dadon opens the action pre with a raise to 210,000 and around to Walden who 3bets to 520,000 and its flat called.

Flop of 2dQs10s Dadon gets a check raise in of 816,000 after Walden had made it 316,000 to go and Walden just flats, Turn 4d and Dadon puts in a hefty bet of 1,500,000 which gets insta called, off to the river we went which fell a 4c to pair the board, Dadon announces all in and without any hesitation Walden calls and Dadon instantly flips over 10h10s for a house while Walden showed KcKh for two pair.

Benjamin Dadon is now our overwhelming chipleader, Junior Walden will collect €8,700 for his couple days of poker.

Thomas Boivin
Thomas Boivin will be our 8th place finisher and collect €6,150 for his efforts here this week, I was in the middle or writing up the other elimination when the all in and call was announced looks like we might have a fast & furious day on our hands.

Dan Carter opens to the action to 167,000 and its around to Boivin who moves all in for a little over 1,000,000 action around to chip leader Benjamin Dadon who announces call which forces Carter to step out of the way.

Boivin - KhQs

Dadon - JcJs

Board ran out 9dAs4c4s10d as we lose one more player.

- DM

9th Andrew Wayman

Andrew Wayman
Andrew Wayman has just been eliminated in 9th by Junior Waldin, Wayman opens the action preflop to 170,000 around to Waldin in LP who elects to reraise to 351,000 everybody else steps out of the way and its action back on the original raiser.

Wayman hollywoods a little before announcing all in, no snap call so its looking ok for him Waldin eventually says call and we are cards up on their backs.

Wayman has a little over 2 million & Waldin covers by about 190,000

Wayman - QcQd

Waldin - JsJd

TD Shawn Lytle is calling the action as the dealer spreads the 10c10s2d flop, turn brings the suckout as it falls a Jh and there is big gasp from the room, 2s completes the board and a 4 million + chip pot goes to Waldin, Wayman shakes hands as he leaves the table and head to the cash desk to collect €4,350 for his 9th place finish, have to say he took it a lot better than I would of.

It was pretty quick out of the blocks for eliminations and then a constant steady stream of bustouts along the way, I had asked TD's JP McCann & Shawn Lytle what time we would likely finish up at and they both said around the 10:30 mark so they weren't far off that.

Final Table Bubbleboy

Shane Mossop
We have just hit our final 9 players (will have a list in a bit) after Shane Mossop bust at the hand of Youry De Winter.

Mossop all in pre flop for 774,000 and its folded around to De Winter in the BB who after sipping some water from his bottle peeks down at his cards and instantly announces call.

Cards on their back and its QhJc for Mossop & Kc10s for De Winter, tournament director JP McCann is calling the action as the dealer spreads a 3d4h2s flop, 9s on the turn and Mossop had one more chance to pull off the miracle river but wasn't to be as a 10c peeled off to give De Winter one pair.

Mossop will walk away with €3,250 for his 10th place finish.

21st Gregiore Marro

Gregiore Marro
Action is opened by Benjamin Dadon second to act as he makes it 80,000 to play, Anthony Guibert enters the pot two places behind him as he flat calls. It's then passed round to Gregiore Marro in the big blind who moves all in!! The dealer asks for a count and it's 655,000. Ben goes into the tank for a few minutes, playing around 1 million chips, he then calls and Anthony quickly folds behind him.

Ben turns over Kc-Qs which dominates the Qh-Jh of Gregiore. The board runs out 9d--6c--3c--7d--5d.

Gregiore Marro is eliminated in 21st place for €1,400.

22nd - Pierre Milan

Pierre Milan
Pierre Milan has been eliminated in 22nd place at the hands of Shane Mossop, Milan playing a stack of 805,000 is well covered by Mossop.

Milan - 6h6c

Mossop - KcKs

Flop of 7sAh8d Turn 9h brings out a few extra outs any 5 or 10 plus the 6 but it wasn't to be as the river fell the 2h.

Milan collects €1,400 for his efforts.

23rd Billy Ngo

Billy Ngo
Anthony Guibert makes it 86,000 to play from late position, Billy Ngo then shoves all in over the raise from the button. The shove is for around 400,000. After some thought Anthony playing about 1 million chips  makes the call.
Billy tables As-Qh and needs to dodge three outs to survive as Anthony shows Qc-10h.

The dealer burns and deals the flop 2c--10c--Qd. Anthony hits two pair on the flop to take the lead. The turn card is 5c, which leaves Billy with only 2 outs. The river card is neither of them as it comes 9d.

Billy Ngo heads out in 23rd place for €1,400.

Anthony is now up to 1.4 million.

Keith Brennan 24th

Keith Brennan
Action folded round to Keith Brennan who moves all in for around 450,000, Thomas Finneran is in the big blind playing around 650,000. He checks his cards and then quickly makes the call tabling Ah-9h. It's the worst hand possible for Keith to see as he flips over 10c-9d and is crushed! The board runs out 7d--7h--9c--As--10s.

Keith is eliminated in 24th place for €1,400.

25th - Jonathan Rees

Jonathan Rees
Jonathan Rees has just been eliminated after losing a 2 million chip pot a few minutes back he was short stacking ninja poker on 77k.

Andrew Wayman was the one who caused the carnage when his A4 out flopped Rees KK on a A4x flop from the possibility of winning a hefty hefty stack to fumes, couple hands late he managed to get a double up when he was all in for 77,000 with Jc10h vs the AdQh of Billy Ngo board ran out Jh6h8c8h9c and he suddenly had 214,000.

Onto his exit and he was leading going into it as he pushed all in from the HJ with AdJh and Andrea Rani after asking for the count makes the call out of the BB with Ah10s.

Dealer spread the flop to reveal 2s9s4s Turn 5s to lock the win up for Rani and a Qh river, I'm sure Rees is wondering what could of been only for a few bad cards.

Carter Loses 2mil Flip!!

Dan Carter and Leif Pennonen get involved with each other which ends in Leif Pennonen moving all in and Dan making the call to create a 2 million pot!

Dan shows big slick as he turns over As-Kh, Leif turns over 10d-10s.

The flop comes Qd--3d--7d, giving Dan two less outs as he can no longer hit a diamond. The turn card is 6s.
River is 6d.

Leif hits a flush on the river to double to 2 million chips. Dan Carter still comfortable with 1.5 million chips.

Silas Meyer finishes in 26th

It's folded round to Silas Meyer who moves all in from the small blind and is called by Brendan Ruane in the big blind. Both players short stacked as the contest the 900k pot.

Silas shows Kc-7h and needs to hit against the Ac-2c of Brendan. The board runs out 2d--Js--5h--6h--10h.

Brendan takes the pot and now has 800,000. Silas is left with 80,000 and is eliminated a few hands later.

Silas Meyer picks up €1,400 for his efforts.

Check Raise

Gregoire Marro UTG + 2 makes it 72,000 & Anthony Guibert on the button after eyeing up his opponent somewhat just elects to call.

Flop of 2d3c7c Marro checks to Guibert who bets 87,000k and that bet is met with a very quick all in for around 700,00 from Marro.

Not willing to commit anymore to the pot Guibert mucks and moves onto the next hand.

Billy Ngo opens pre to 63,000 and around to Jonathan Rees who elects to raise to 154,000 which Ngo just flatting.

2h2c3h and Ngo checks to Rees who c-bets 165,000 which is enough to win after a quick muck.
